The Chattanooga Choo Choo complex has a big year ahead, with two new restaurants, a new distillery, and added retail space in the works.

The energetic Southside district is home to many of Chattanooga’s finest restaurants, retailers, and galleries. With iconic attractions to explore and festivals to enjoy, the Southside keeps locals and tourists coming back for more.

Entertainment: The Chattanooga Choo Choo  offers exciting music venues, highly rated restaurants, and a comedy club. Southside Social mixes dining and entertainment with its 10 lanes of bowling, three bars, and indoor gaming area. Additional attractions are only minutes away from the Southside, including the Tennessee Aquarium, Tivoli Theatre, Hunter Museum of American Art, Creative Discovery Museum, and the IMAX 3D Theater.

Festivals: Mainx24, a 24-hour block party celebrating the best of the Southside, brings together local businesses, artists, food trucks, and performers each December. Every spring, the Chattanooga Film Fest delights movie critics and audiences alike. During the summer, free concerts are enjoyed nearby at the Nightfall Concert Series and the Riverfront Nights Music Series.

Shopping: Warehouse Row claims exceptional retailers alongside dining options, fitness centers, and salon services. On Sunday afternoons, residents shop for seasonal produce, artisan foods, and arts and crafts at the Chattanooga Market. The Main Street Farmers Market, on the corner of Main Street and Chestnut Street, offers family-farmed vegetables, fruit, dairy, and meats.

Restaurants: Residents of the Southside district can enjoy relaxed bars and bistros, or opt for a fine dining experience. Local bakeries, creperies, and chocolatiers offer delectable desserts perfect for eating in or sharing with a friend.

Sports: Finley Stadium is home to the UTC football team, UTC women’s soccer team, and Chattanooga Football Club; with 20,668 seats, the stadium is Chattanooga’s largest venue.  Tournaments are held throughout the year at Chattown Skate Park, which features ramps and rails in addition to an in-line hockey rink.

Arts and Parks: Located between West 13th Street and West Main Street, the Main Terrain Art Park offers interactive art pieces that double as fitness alternatives. Montague Park’s Sculpture Fields, acclaimed as one of America’s Southeast treasures, wows with 33 acres of sculpture exhibitions designed to foster creativity.  Several art galleries are also located in the area.
