Hamilton Place Mall recently celebrated 30 years of service to the Chattanooga area; the festivities included a 30-foot cookie cake, drawings, a 5k race, and a concert by 1980’s pop sensation Tiffany.

Surrounded by the picturesque Tennessee Appalachian Valley, and with easy access to Chattanooga’s premier shopping and dining district, East Brainerd knows how to draw a crowd.

 

Shopping: One of the largest shopping complexes in the state of Tennessee, the Hamilton Place Mall has been meeting consumers’ needs for three decades. The mall offers six department stores and more than 200 stores and eateries, including the recent addition of popular retailer H&M. The surrounding Hamilton Crossing, Shoppes at Hamilton Place, and Hamilton Corner provide even more shopping options. Various big box retailers such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Walmart Supercenter, and Bed Bath & Beyond are located throughout the area as well. Formerly at Audubon Acres, the year-round East Brainerd Farmers Market is now held on Tuesdays at Christ United Methodist Church; offerings include seasonal produce, fresh bread, honey, and flowers.       

Restaurants: Residents of East Brainerd can choose between popular local joints offering pizza, barbecue, and Southern dishes. Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, and Asian flavors deliver on variety, whereas fast-casual options cater to the budget-conscious. Many East Brainerd restaurants and sports bars have been recognized on both a regional and national scale.

Entertainment: Movie theaters operating in East Brainerd include Regal Cinemas Hamilton Place 8 and AMC Classic Chattanooga 10. For family fun, Pin Strikes Entertainment Center offers 24 lanes of bowling along with laser tag, bumper cars, a video arcade, and a restaurant. At the highly rated Breakout Games – Chattanooga, located on East Brainerd Road, challenging rooms are waiting to be escaped.

Outdoors and Parks: With hiking trails, a museum, and the Elise Chapin Wildlife Sanctuary, Audubon Acres is a great place to explore, learn, and play. Audubon Acres has access to the South Chickamauga Creek and contains a rich diversity of animal and plant life. Several public and private golf courses are in and around East Brainerd. Brainerd Golf Course is one of the city’s oldest, and minutes from Hamilton Place Mall is the Brown Acres Golf Course. Council Fire Golf Club is a private course nearby.

Arts and Attractions: The Heritage House is an arts and civic center located in East Brainerd’s Heritage Park. Events take place throughout the year at the Heritage House, including favorites like Photo Fest, East Brainerd Marketplace, Bark in the Park, and Ambi Artists. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, offering train rides from Grand Junction Station, is just a short drive away.
