Collegedale and Apison residents benefit from shopping, restaurants, and recreational opportunities around every corner. Nestled among beautiful country hills, the area has developed an impressive reputation for its spectacular greenways and parks.

Outdoors and Parks: Among the most popular outdoor areas is Wolftever Creek Greenway, a paved walking and exercise trail that stretches along Wolftever Creek and connects pedestrians to parks, playgrounds, an amphitheater, dog park, and more. Red Clay State Historic Park, spanning 263 acres, is also nearby. Inside the park is the Blue Hole Spring, a natural landmark which arises from beneath a limestone ledge to form a deep pool. Red Clay also features a 100-person capacity picnic pavilion, 18 picnic tables, and an amphitheater that can seat up to 500 people. A short drive away is Enterprise South Nature Park, which includes 2,800 wooded acres with miles of walking and bicycle paths, picnic areas, and a small lake.

Sports: The Summit of Softball Complex, with eight state-of-the-art playing fields, is located off I-75 between Ooltewah and Collegedale. The complex hosts national and regional softball tournaments, as well as local adult leagues, recreational play, and youth softball. The Tucker Road Recreational Area features a soccer field, small playground, and a pavilion. Several private golf clubs, including The Honors Course and WindStone Golf Club, are nearby.

Shopping: The Collegedale Market at the Commons features fresh produce, art, and live music. Another local favorite, Collegedale Christmas Market, is also at the Commons and offers artisan gifts, food, and holiday décor. The Village Market, operated by Southern Adventist University, has a wide selection of natural foods and supplements. Just minutes away, Cambridge Square includes several locally owned shops for food, fun, and fitness. Walmart Supercenter, Publix, and Food City grocery store are in close proximity, while other major roadways lead to Hamilton Place Mall and big box stores such as Target, Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Home Depot.

Restaurants: Collegedale and Apison residents enjoy a variety of dining options, from casual to gourmet eateries. Peruvian, Chinese, and Mexican dishes are served alongside Southern staples like barbecue and burgers.
