Did You Know?

In the early 20th century, Ooltewah was the county seat of James County – a former Tennessee county that was later incorporated into Hamilton County. The James County Courthouse, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, can be visited today in downtown Ooltewah.

As one of Hamilton County’s fastest-growing areas, Ooltewah charms with its natural beauty, numerous housing options, and proximity to quality schools and businesses.

plant, Amazon, Plas
tic Omnium, Gestamp, and ADM. Also calling Ooltewah home are Miller Industries, RemSource USA, Hawker Powersource, and a FedEx warehouse. Wacker Chemie and Whirlpool are located 30 minutes away in Bradley County.

Transportation

Adjacent to I-75, Ooltewah provides residents easy access to downtown Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, and Hamilton Place Mall. Connecting interstates lead to Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Knoxville.

Education

Ooltewah public schools include Ooltewah Elementary, Snow Hill Elementary, Wolftever Creek Elementary, Wallace A. Smith Elementary, Hunter Middle School, Hamilton County High School, East Hamilton Middle/High School, and Ooltewah middle and high schools. Several private education alternatives are nearby, including Silverdale Baptist Academy, St. Nicholas School, and Grace Baptist Academy.
