Cambridge Square, a mixed-use development, contains locally owned eateries, boutiques, a home décor workshop, salons, and more in the heart of Ooltewah. Residents also have easy access to I-75, which leads to more than 200 stores in and around Hamilton Place Mall. Big box stores such as Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, and Home Depot are minutes away, while grocery shopping options ranging from Publix to ALDI and Food City are closer to home.
Wolftever Creek Greenway, just a short distance from Ooltewah, is a paved walking and exercise trail that stretches along Wolftever Creek and connects pedestrians to parks, playgrounds, an amphitheater, and a dog park. Also nearby is Enterprise South Nature Park, offering miles of walking paths, mountain biking trails, picnic areas, and a wildlife viewing platform. Booker T. Washington State Park, situated on the shores of Chickamauga Lake, treats visitors to a 6-mile biking trail, Olympic-size swimming pool, picnic pavilions, and more than 30 individual picnic sites.
St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church celebrates the Annual Blessing of the Animals to commemorate St. Francis, the church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. The fun-filled day includes a short liturgy, as well as a pet parade, petting zoo, and pet adoption provided by local rescue organizations. The Ooltewah Farmers Market hosts an annual Melon Fest, featuring seed spitting contests, line dancing, and free watermelon samples.
The Ooltewah community is proud to be home to The Honors Course, a 400-acre private golf course that hosts many state, regional, national, and international amateur championships. Additionally, several clubs and courses are in and around Ooltewah, including The Champions Club at Hampton Creek, Brown Acres Golf Course, Concord Golf Club, and Council Fire Golf Club. The Ooltewah Swim Center offers pool parties and swimming lessons for all ages, while the Snow Hill Recreation League organizes baseball games in the fall and spring.
